Launch Your Aerospace Career

The LA Basin is the largest manufacturing center in U.S., and a world leader in aerospace. As this industry sector continues to grow, so too does the need for qualified workers with very specific skillsets. The increasing number of retiring aerospace employees only adds to the demand. The nation’s first program of its kind certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, the LA Basin Workforce Network (LABWN) Aero-Flex Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship are preparing job seekers to meet the demand for skilled workers while launching their careers.

AN ENTRY WAY TO AEROSPACE

Aero-Flex Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship programs are open to high school students, post-secondary students, veterans, returning service personnel, individuals experiencing homelessness or involvement with the justice system, and other underserved job seekers. The program offers an entryway for people new to the industry as well as a clear pathway to career advancement for current aerospace workers. Participants and apprentices have the ability to earn stackable credentials that build on one another to demonstrate advanced knowledge, skills, and experience.

CHOOSE YOUR PATH

Based on experience, education, and interests, Aero-Flex participants have the option to pursue multiple high-growth, exciting career pathways as an aerospace engineer, tool programmer, machine operator, metal fabricator, industry manufacturing technician, assembler, cyber security support technician, quality inspector, and more.

FLEXIBLE AND CONVENIENT

Aero-Flex offers a 6- to 12-week program that combines convenient online learning through community colleges, technical schools, and apprenticeships with on-the-job training at leading aerospace companies that are actively hiring. Participants design their own programs based on their goals and needs.

IN-DEMAND SKILLS

Aero-Flex offers participants the chance to get paid while learning on the job. The more skills and experience apprentices gain, the more they earn. Participants also earn industry-recognized credentials that demonstrate their qualifications for the job and have the option to become members of SME, the manufacturing industry’s leading association.

SUPPORTING SUCCESS

To support their success in the program, Aero-Flex participants also have access to a wide range of resources and referrals for housing, mental health and wellness services, transportation, and more through our partners and America’s Job Centers of California (AJCCs).

SHARING THEIR SUCCESS

“I am grateful for the great opportunity the program has given me. I wouldn’t have found the job I have. There is something satisfactory about all the knowledge you’ve learned in school is being applied at a job.”
